Ministries

THE SOUTHSIDE SEVENTH-DAY ADVENTIST CHURCH implements various ministries to better serve our members as well as the surrounding community. In addition to the various departments within our church, our ministries include Children's Ministries, Family Life Ministries, Personal Ministries and Youth Ministries.

BIBLE STUDY GUIDES
Two different series are available. First are the Discover Bible study guides that offer colorful, easy-to-understand guides that provide an educational journey through the Bible. Second is the Search for Certainty Bible study guides that explore the teachings of the Bible in an easy-to-follow format.

PERSONAL MINISTRIES
This ministry focuses on witnessing for Jesus Christ. We work in conjunction with the audio visual department to provide the annual NET seminars and media. We also place and maintain magazine boxes containing free copies of the magazine Signs of the Times throughout our community.

FAMILY LIFE MINISTRIES
Our endeavor in providing this ministry stems from the complexity of the family unit. It is our plan to provide assistance, resources, and guidance to individuals and families for the many situations that arrive in daily life through seminars, outings, and resource materials available to us. In addition, we plan and provide family "gatherings" to further nurture our individual family units and our church family as a whole.

CHILDREN'S MINISTRIES
We provide a Christian learning experience for children of all ages through our Sabbath school program. Children's classes include a beginner class (Cradle Roll) for ages 1-4, a kindergarten class for ages 4-7, a primary class for ages 7-9, a junior class for ages 10-12, and a youth class for teens. Teachers and assistants follow a specific curriculum designed to foster the child's relationship with God.

YOUTH MINISTRIES
We also are a ministry that provides worship, fellowship and support for the youth of Southside Seventh-day Adventist Church.

ADVENTURER/PATHFINDER CLUBS

These clubs work specifically with the cultural, social and religious education of children and teenagers located in the age group between 6 and 15 years.

WOMEN’S MINISTRIES

The Women's Ministries wishes to encourage and challenge Seventh-day Adventist women in their daily walk as disciples of Jesus Christ and as members of His church. The mission of Women's Ministries is, in the larger sense, common to all Christians, that of uplifting Christ in the church and in the world.

Kairos Prison Ministry International, Inc. (Kairos) is a Christian faith based ministry which addresses the spiritual needs of incarcerated men, women, youth, and their families. By sharing the love and forgiveness of Jesus Christ, Kairos hopes to change hearts, transform lives and impact the world. Kairos sprang from the Cursillo movement and is supported by volunteers from the 4th Day movements such as Cursillo, National Episcopal Cursillo, Presbyterian Cursillo, Lutheran Via de Cristo, The Upper Room's Walk To Emmaus, and independently ecumenical Tres Dias as well as volunteers from independent and non-denominational churches. As a ministry, Kairos embraces a diverse group of volunteers working together to fulfill Christ's call to action in Matthew 25:36. Click www.kairosprisonministry.org to visit the Kairos website.

But be doers of the word, and not hearers only. James 1:22
